Maffra, in Central Gippsland, is the southern gateway to the National Parks of south east Australia, so Cambrai is a very convenient base from which to explore the whole area.
In the mountains to the north you will find accessible pristine native forests, stunning for cross country skiers, anglers, 4-W-D driving or bushwalkers.
Nearby to the south is Victoria's most extensive inland lake system, the Gippsland Lakes, right beside the fabulous 90 Mile Beach.
Cambrai has also proved to be popular with a range of local groups which regularly travel to Gippsland for sporting and business events.
